The Ten Values of the Grameen Women

1.  We consciously take up discipline, solidarity, courage, and hard work, as the basic principles of our group.

2.  We will not poison the earth with trash nor chemicals. We will cultivate crops in all seasons of the year. We will eat a part of our harvest and the rest we will sell.

3.  We will give to our daughters the same help that we give to our sons, in order that they study, work, and are happy. We will be an example that men and women have the same rights.

4.  We will exemplify, with pride and without embarrassment, that women have the same rights as men, with sufficient force and understanding to improve our economic and social conditions.

5.  We will bring prosperity to our families.

6.  We will not live in dilapidated houses; we will repair our houses and we will construct new houses as soon as possible.

7.  During the proper season, we will plant the largest number possible of plants and trees.

8.  We will always keep our children and our environment clean.

9.  We will not be unjust, nor will we permit anyone to commit injustice.

10.  We will always be ready to help one another.  If a person has problems, we will help her.
